1 to 1 Device Program

Walled Lake Consolidated Schools is excited to offer students in grades 6-12 the opportunity to obtain a district supported Chromebook device for this school year and beyond. Walled Lake Consolidated Schools offers students the ability to bring their own device on a daily basis, or check out a district Chromebook. Students will have two choices; Bring your own device from home or sign up for a district-issued Chromebook.

*Note - Additional carts of Chromebooks will no longer be available for students to utilize extra building devices on a daily basis. Students will be expected to bring a charged device (personal device or District issued Chromebook) daily in order to utilize online curricular resources as well as participate in daily instruction within the classroom.

We strongly encourage families to sign up for a district-issued Chromebook. Some of the advantages include:

  • Better Wi-Fi connectivity in-district
  • Increased support from district IT staff including curriculum resources and support apps
  • Streamline repair process

Payment Dates

In order to pick up a device at your school's registration, your payment must be completed by August 11 at 11:59 p.m.

If payment is made after the payment date above, a device will be prepared and delivered to your students on or around the first day of school.

Please review the documents in the resources section above, which details responsibilities and terms of use of district-issued devices. Families will also be encouraged to purchase ChromeCare, a device support plan which covers any potential damage to the device while in the student’s care. Similar to our textbook distribution practice, a good faith deposit will be required to check out a district-issued Chromebook.

This good faith deposit will be refunded upon graduation or in the event the device is no longer requested. This deposit cannot be used for repair and is non-transferable. If you would like a district-issued Chromebook but require financial assistance or consideration, please reach out to your building principal. Payments should be made through eFunds or Skyward Family Access.

*Please note - Our Summer Chromebook Retention Program participants paid their non-refundable Technology Protection Plan insurance premium in June and do not have to pay an additional deposit or insurance for the 24-25 school year.

To ensure a smooth device check out experience, the forms linked above will need to be printed, signed and submitted at your schools registration day. Hard copies of these forms will be available during the distribution as well.
