Join the PTSA

The Clifford H. Smart PTSA is an important organization that helps purchase items and sponsors many of the activities that take place throughout the year including Activity Nights, the G.A.P. Program, Reflections, Book Fairs, Staff Appreciation Week, Hoops for Heart, and copy room assistance.

We need everyone's support to make all of these activities possible. Please join the PTSA to make a difference in your child's school life. The cost is $10 per member. New members will receive a virtual student directory with their individual membership purchase.

Joining the PTSA does not mean you have to commit a lot of time to the organization (although we'd love to have you help out). It simply means that you care about your child's school community, and that you are committed to making it a great place for him/her to be.

PTSA Goal Achievement Program (GAP)

Each marking period, this program allows your child(ren) to achieve a goal in:

  • Citizenship
  • Academics
  • Reading
  • Community service.

The goal for each marking period is outlined below:

1st Marking Period: Citizenship

This will be automatically calculated by the office based off of report card citizenship marks. You do not need to turn anything in to achieve this goal.

2nd Marking Period: Grade Point Average

This will be automatically calculated by the office based off of report card grades. You do not need to turn anything in to achieve this goal.

3rd Marking Period: Reading

In order to achieve this goal, you will need to read at least 400 pages during the third marking period. The Reading Goal form is due at the end of March. No late forms will be accepted.

4th Marking Period: Community Service

In order to achieve this goal, you will need to complete at least 10 hours of community service. These hours may be accumulated throughout the entire school year, not just the fourth marking period. The Community Service Goal form is due the first week of June. No late forms will be accepted.

Please note - You may not receive money or compensation for completing these service hours.

Students will receive a small reward for each goal achieved throughout every year of middle school. Children that achieve all four goals during all three years will be recognized at their 8th grade ceremony. Please contact Jillian Moutafis with any questions regarding the GAP program.
