Tamara Oglesby-Baker receives Golden Apple Award

Wixom Elementary building secretary, Tamara Oglesby-Baker, received a Golden Apple Award at the October 9, 2025 Board of Education meeting.

Oglesby-Baker was nominated for her showing up everyday driven by her love for the school and Wixom community. She exudes positivity when others need it most. Oglesby-Baker is professional, warm and exceedingly kind, making every child feel loved and important. Her vivacious energy is contagious and uplifting, and she never misses an opportunity to pass along kindness to others and inspires others to be the same by simply being herself.

Oglesby-Baker rises above difficult situations to remain calm, kind and focused on problem-solving. She is always willing to talk through concerns and problem-solve with families, students and staff. She remains clear-headed and consistently looks for ways to improve the way things run. She is dedicated to our families, students and staff.
